OMG, the Google banner is showing Gerda Taro and I thought to myself "Why is Google showing Kira Nerys from Star Trek DS9?"

UNCANNY! The resemblance is amazing.
peeling a "poop ton" of home grown garlic
got to be a better way then this "shake, shake, shake" ordeal
I'm pretty sure the whole point of procreation is so that you don't have to do mundane labor such as peeling "poop tons" of garlic later in life.
i have already made a mental note to only buy ONE garlic set next spring
it is interesting though, to see just how much work it is to peel garlic. our ancestors must have really, really liked the stuff..well, i do too. started using garlic powder- the kind without salt added-a few yrs back as a replacement for salt. as well as other things
have you seen ppl peel it? what technique do they use? we use the old glass pickle jar with metal lid and "shake, shake, shake--repeat"
it works--just tedious
Get one of those rubber garlic peeler tubes. You can probably find them online or at a housewares store.
thanks puss! i'll check amazon
You could also look into steaming the cloves or blanching them in boiling water. Then after you've cooled them in ice water the paper-like husks should just pop off. I haven't done this for garlic so I can't guarantee how well it will work but it's worth researching if you're doing large quantities. If you're canning the garlic the blanching process should be good for them believe it or not.
