The funniest parts in my opinion:
I wonder why!
Good that BJS recognized, that Scott isn't a Alpha male. He is stating the obvious.
Let’s not talk down to these characters or the audience and create a pleasant, light Italian operetta. Let’s go for some Wagner, here.

Thats one of the things I think SGA and SG-1 had a problem with sometimes, they did have a few outside forces fixing things for them. The thing is SGU has its share of "outside forces" fixing things for them. Most notably Chloe's alien disease that saved his life and hers. And the SGA/SG-1 crew didn't have any "outside forces" fixing things for them, so I hope he's not trying to say that. They had to have their wits about them to solve their own problems, and they had to find help usually. Even when they point-blank asked the Ancients to help, the Ancients refused. Yes, both shows had their MacGuffins, but the Destiny IS a MacGuffin. And SGU just takes the "deus ex machina" effect to another level. All of this combined is just driving the frachise to new and previously unseen lows.
I've never been fond of the whole "Deus ex machina" solution to things.Thats one of the things I think SGA and SG-1 had a problem with sometimes, they did have a few outside forces fixing things for them. Here's my favorite line:
Sure kid, let's go for some "Wagner". Gimme a break. SGU doesn't even rise to the level of Britney Spears artistically, let alone come close to Wagner. And hell, it would be a ratings success if it was a light Italian operetta because that would make the show interesting, you stupid twit!
Me, neither. But one of the things that our dear BJS doesn't know because he never watched SG-1 start to finish is that many of these neat little fixes come back to bite our heroes in the ass.I've never been fond of the whole "Deus ex machina" solution to things.

"MacUseless"?thumbs up for the twilight reference. i must agree with you on that one too.
me too! and the outtakes from solitudes...AT screaming about being stuck on glacier with macgyver and having a penny , some string and something else and he can't fix the dhd? it was too funny! I loved my sg1 dvds....
"MacUseless"?
Hehe!!
yepppers! those were great eps. Today syfy ran a sg1 marathon...caught one of my faves... "The other guys"...what can i say I have the hots for felger...I love his nebbish nerdiness! and giving coombs grief over loving Trek (fyi for those who don't know Coombs played Phlox on ENT), Coombs: "how can you call yourself a scientist if you don't worship at the altar of Roddenberry" GREAT LINE!!!!! Even that little goofy ep is 1000000x better than sgpoo!<<<just cause you can never have enough village people!
As opposed to the Destiny fixing everything for them so as to leave the crew more time for whining and musical montages?
I hope SGU doesn't get canceled before their "Glee" episode airs, you know, the one where someone breaks into song in every single scene, replete with dancing of course. Oh, shades of "West Side Story" in space, I can see it now, Chloe and Scott are two star crossed lovers who can never be together because of their differences: she being a fish and him being a developmentally disabled human. He's a "Jet" and she's a "Shark" and never the twain shall meet! The knife fight alone would make it worth watching.
