First off, this is a PERSONAL message to you Mallozzi, and I dont speak for the other people here.
This thread is being started because I want to focus on a specific subject: Why do you blame "those angry Atlantis fans" for everything wrong with Stargate Universe? From the lies you have told about the Dragon Con most recently, to the lie you supported which said that this website had made some sort of death threats against actors and their families.
Honestly, Joe.
You claimed on your blog most recently that this website has some sort of "mission statement" and that our goal here is to get Stargate Universe canceled so that a way can be made to bring Atlantis back. Really? . I dont think anyone here seriously thinks that Atlantis can be brought back, since the sets have been sold off, the actors have moved on to other things, and of course, you and your buddies have shown NO interest in doing so. No, we DONT think it is coming back. But you are right about one thing...we DO want Stargate Universe cancelled (well, most of us do). I want it canceled, and I dont care if there is no more Stargate for a few years, as long as you and your cohorts are finally FORCED to move on to other things more suited to your writing abilities...say, daytime soap or Saturday morning cartoons? Snark aside, what is the reason you show such obvious disdain for Atlantis, its actors, its fans, and ESPECIALLY Joe Flanigan?
My personal theory is that they made you feel like an idiot with your camera, your chocolate and food fetish, and other grass-eating ways (ask one of your Japanese girlfriends what soushoku danshi means). Im sure it was nothing more than the usual horseplay that happens amongst masculine men, and you were a favorite target. I imagine that Joe Flanigan and Jason Momoa probably pulled pranks and played jokes on you that made you so angry that you wanted to punch one of them (but you sooo couldnt). :jmm: You seem to be continuing to hold a grudge, and you obviously are not over it. You blame Joe, Atlantis, its fans, its very existence. If you could, you would have it forgotten and forever cloaked. But SG-1 is still okay in your book. A theory, but I bet Im not off the mark by much.
Your nemesis?:
I can imagine your pain. Here we have a good looking, charismatic man with a great sense of humor and a huge following, and he is the Alpha male you wish you were. The epitome of the "square jawed hero" you will never be. It would have been better for you to have accepted your role in the class "C" male category and made friends with Flanigan. Perhaps you could have scored with the groupies he rejected?
Now, you are waffling on the hard questions your regular blog readers are asking. They remember you talking about the Atlantis movie, a possible SG-1 movie, but your answer to people who ask is that you think that SGU will get priority for a movie above Atlantis or SG-1. WTF? What sort of sense does it make to take a failing show which will be most likely canceled for ratings, has a "fanbase" of less than 1.5 viewers, and that nobody is asking for...and make a movie out of it?
Atlantis fans know their show is gone. It wont be back, and THEY KNOW THAT. I loved SG-1 and Atlantis alike, but I would rather see the franchise go into stasis for several years (or as long as it takes to get rid of you and everyone connected with the Stargate franchise at the moment), and get a real reboot from more capable writers. I also know that at the San Diego Comic Con, Devlin and Emmerich stated that they want to write a sequel to the original Stargate Movie.

The failure of Stargate Universe is YOUR fault, shared with Wright and Cooper. Atlantis fans have little to do with it, and its also SG-1 fans who dont like Stargate Universe. Why should we? Its a soap opera, and we are science fiction fans. But we still love Stargate. This new show of yours is only called Stargate, but its not Stargate.
As soon as MGM is back on its feet, perhaps they might consider selling the rights to Stargate. I sure hope that happens, because Stargate Universe can do nothing but damage what little enthusiasm is left.
