So, just to throw my 3 cents out there randomly...
Liked:
- the earth scenes better than the Destiny on- board pointlessness (and maybe I should copy this point straight to wtf!? moments
), mainly due to there finally being some continuity after introducing all the earth realtions and then abandoning them for how many months; but at the same time, it's a surefire way to confuse new viewers, who have no clue what the heck is going on with plot strands that got opened so far back :icon_eek:
- finally, FINALLY they don't gloss over *all* of the strangeness that the earthbound guys and gals face when confronted with their loved ones in different bodies (in that sense, Sharon being driven to alcohol is one of the first times that someone being an alcoholic on the show actually makes sense and carries impact to me for various reasons)
- David Blue's acting with Eli and mom back on the ship (don't hit me :icon_e_wink
, he was really awkward and it came across well to me that Eli was not very comfortable getting all cuddly with Lisa Park mommy. Tough being on the other side of the fence for once, eh Destineers?
Things I can suspend disbelief on:
- Eli coming out to mom about their situation. Heck, Chloe got on Icarus base, several other Destineers have blabbed about the program to various people, why should Eli need extra permission now. Not that it makes any sense, all of it, but I'm over that.
- Eli's mom not reacting to "Tracy's" outrageous stories. Ok, she's switched off, whatever.
- The Greer character in general. So now he has a new favourite enemy's heel to snap at. Woot. It's not as if the guy's attention span is all that great (or he would have followed *Rush* to the bridge ages ago, been a little more wary towards Telford after the un- brainwashing... you get my drift). Kind of sorry for the actor he gets to do another rewind on the "angry bulldog" routine, but well, it's SGU.
really Disliked/ wtf?! moments:
- Sharon jumps out of the house as soon as the government vehicle stops. Is she glued to her window 24/7 or is that supposed to mean that Destineers frequently visit offscreen?
- Young. Young, Young, Young... pure hatred, complete with getting the urge to bash head against nearest concrete surface. "I need it fixed...
now!" and "Eli is not available,
you fix it...
now!" Well dude, if you spent any time thinking ahead more than where to get the next refill of your pretty flask or your women- issues, you'd not find yourself in soooo many fucked up situations in the first place! He has been and still is supposed to lead (not that he ever really started to do that...) and I don't get why noone on Destiny just murders the character in his sleep. Call it putting him out of his misery and start over already!
- Chloe in the chair. Now
I would be a
little wary of sitting in the thing, considering it brain damaged the last one to try that. Oh, and making him disappear after deep freezing him. It would so raise my confidence when I also got told it will *kill* anything alien in me, when I don't even have a clue how much that might be... not. On top of that, Chloe's trust in Rush that he fixed the chair is amazing, considering he seems to have done that off screen (yay for offscreen... apparently, everything worthwile happens offscreen), in his plenty of free time when he isn't overworking himself on the bridge already
. You'd see why I don't understand all the other characters thinking Chloe in the chair would be a good idea. I mean, if it's supposed to say that Chloe is getting all suicidal, fine with me. But Scott "the love puppy" having just had heavy relationship talk and then not objecting to her sitting in the chair??? WTF?!
Ok, three points for each. Still too much unrealistic/ illogical behaviour of main characters for me, so nothing much has changed.
