Okay, I just saw this. OMG, the movie is absolutely incredible. I can't talk too much about it without spoiling it, but let's say that just about every minute of this movie is used to effect. No filler, and the character development in this movie is far and away it's strongest element. When you factor in the ape characters and the ape community, you forget that this is CGI. You think you are seeing talking apes, riding horseback, shooting guns, showing love to other apes, etc. Your mind just registers "ape". These apes are not the glib, refined talking apes we have seen in previous PotA movies, these apes communicate in a decidedly un-human fashion.
Oh wow, I would pay to see this again in 3D. Easily Best Picture material here folks. This is one of the best written, best acted, most integrated movies (with regard to CGI and action and cinematography) that I have seen in more than 10 years. The next one should be even more spectacular. These movies are not about CGI and pew pew. These are thinking movies, which happen to have some of the most convincing special effects ever seen on film to date.
INCREDIBLE. No other word quite says it.
