He said his fight with MoRyan last year was "possibly the stupidest thing Ive ever done as a producer"

Says he's worried about the move to Tuesdays.

He's aware of the online criticism and says it's a Love it or Hate it kind of show.

Trying to bring a bit more action to this season

There will be a "mission" for destiny - possibly they took a little bit too long to get to that point

It's too early to talk about a series ender in ep 20, but it will also depend on how the show does on Tuesdays

Emphasizes how he wants people to watch on Tuesday

I dislike this man a great deal for what he has done to the franchise, so I cannot watch this vid without being upset at him and the entire situation.

Interesting that he is being so 'nice" now...he knows if they don't get good/decent ratings the show will go down....so now he wants the old stargate fans back...TOO LATE!

Well I forced myself to listen. He tried very hard not to put his foot in his mouth and succeeded to a degree. He waffled on about SGU obviously and said that he ALWAYS intended to do Atlantis crossovers. I guess he forgets what he says in previous interviews. He was delighted to have McKay back and since SGA was practically the McKay show and the only person they could write for, no surprises there!!. He can't understand how some find SGU the best show ever and some the worst show ever. Besides the handful of squeedrones over on GW I don't know anyone else who thinks it's the best show ever. The interviewer tells him he's a huge fan of the show but didnt even know it was moved to Tuesday and thinks the ratings are doing really well!!

This is when Brad began to sound a bit desparate that we watch it on Tuesdays and he hopes the show goes on forever. This is where my bitterness kinda pops up again. He couldnt wait to cancel SGA, though still professing that one had nothing to do with the other ,but yet wants to keep this crap on the air for as long as possible. Once again proclaiming how new and different it is yada yada yada. I don't have a problem with new and different Brad, what I have a problem with is when new and different isnt really new and different and ultimately is just forced melodrama with the same issues and plot holes that plagued the other two shows. But with the other two shows you had great characters, which SGU sorely lacks and all the wonderful special effects, big guest stars and great locations won't make a blind bit of difference. SGU is failing because it's badly written with horrible unlikeable characters and that's not going to change.

Oh guess what, season two will have more humour and adventure. But didnt we have more humour and adventure in the previous successful show that they cancelled. Eli will be the comic refief and Young according to Brad is very funny, so we will have funnier psycho behaviour from Young.
And poor Chloe's afliction, ahem her encounter with the Blue Aliens will have an effect on her relationship with Scott, awww!

Other than boring stuff about SGU nothing of interest but definitley pleading for anyone to watch. He doesnt seem to have a clue that he's killing the franchise and taken away everything that Stargate stood for. Stargate stood for the good in humanity for me and that's why I loved it, now all we get is selfish, immoral, backstabbing morans who shouldnt be anywhere near the Stargate programme , and he can't understand why so many hate what he has done to the franchise, sigh!!

whine whine whine is all he does. he's like my eldest sister and rewrites history for his own convenience! :P:P

Count me out too

We basement dwellers have standards. I hope they aren't waiting for royality payments from SGU to take care of them in their old age.

In a nutshell then he is admitting that he fucked up big time with sgu but is asking for forgiveness from the very people that he shat on? Count me out.

I recently watched this interview from July 2009 posted awhile ago by A4L on the nabble forum.
Now that we've seen the whole season 1 of SGU notice how he lied through his teeth on that video. Just like he's lying now (about SGA, more action, etc).

SGU is so going down!!

Sounds like he's bricking it now that he realises SGU will probably face off head to head against V. Just a letter of the alphabet again huh, Mr. Wright?

I'm not buying it

As much as I'd like to think otherwise, SGU will remain the same as it was in season one. Season one has established the characters (as bad as they are) and the long, slow story arc (as boring and uneventful as it is). To change the style/pacing of the show and add more action and exploration would invalidate the entire first season, which is something TPTB would never do because it means admitting they were wrong. If Scott all of a sudden became noble it would not be credible at all. The second season will be SGU's last.

The sad part about Brad Wright is that he used to be able to write decent scifi. I was watching some early season Showtime Outer Limits episodes and noticed Wright was the writer for a handful of them. Surprisingly, a large amount of the episodes he had his hands on were actually very good. He even managed to do the dark and gritty scifi moderately well with the episode Quality of Mercy. What happened to him?

Before we go, what’s one of the things you’re looking forward to seeing the fans react to in season 2?
I would like them to react to the show by watching it (laughs)! I would like them to embrace the mission and embrace the journey that Destiny is on and that our characters are on. If we don’t get people excited about the show it could go away. Just because we’re Stargate doesn’t automatically mean that we’re gonna go forever.
I really hope that people who maybe didn’t’ watch it at first because they were angry that Atlantis was canceled – and I didn’t cancel it by the way (laughs), I don’t know why I got blamed – I hope they give us another look and give us a second chance. A lot of critics of the show early on have recognized that the show isn’t Battlestar Galactica and it isn’t Voyager and it isn’t Lost, it’s its own show. I would like our fans to realize that SGU is its own show and it has its own identity, and it’s an interesting one.

Just on this bit here from BW:

I really hope that people who maybe didn’t’ watch it at first because they were angry that Atlantis was canceled – and I didn’t cancel it by the way (laughs), I don’t know why I got blamed – I hope they give us another look and give us a second chance.

Here we go again
"I didn't cancel Atlantis, He did"
"No He did"
"No, it was him"
"No, the dog ate the S6 scripts"
"It wasn't me, I've got a note from my mummy"

For fuck's sake already, the show didn't cancel itself. Someone made the call and it would be nice if whoever it was just took some fucking responsibility for it.

...
No, it was your fourth most stupid thing.

#1 was cancelling SGA

#2 was creating SGU

#3 was insulting the SG fans

I would like them to react to the show by watching it (laughs)! hahaha man that's funny  I would like them to embrace the mission and embrace the journey that Destiny is on and that our characters are on. If we don’t get people excited about the show it could go away. Yes! Yes! :D Just because we’re Stargate doesn’t automatically mean that we’re gonna go forever actually Stargate will - it's just that SGU isn't SG.
I really hope that people who maybe didn’t’ watch it at first because they were angry that Atlantis was canceled – and I didn’t cancel it by the way (laughs) f%&# you!, I don’t know why I got blamed – I hope they give us another look and give us a second chance. A lot of critics of the show early on have recognized that the show isn’t Battlestar Galactica and it isn’t Voyager and it isn’t Lost, Right, it doesn't stand up to either one of those, in quality nor ratings! it’s its own show. I would like our fans to realize that SGU is its own show =a soap opera and it has its own identity, and it’s an interesting one ...to watch go down in flames.

He is fooling us again.
So basically if the ratings do not improve the show will be canned :smiley_squee:
No it is not Battlestar, Voyager or Lost. It is a mish mash of all three with a split personality.

The show is in dire straights and on its way out.
:joy:
