Agree, and the Russin real-life model is not true communism. It has a "free-market" although ultimately controlled. One can make profit within Russian communism. In the Marx model, everyone owns everything under "social ownership". There is a regulating body to organize the resources by availability, production, or whatever, but it is not a lawmaking body.

it is far better for the population to be educated as children, to learn that the right thing should be done because it is right not to be forced to do so by regulation and fines and denial of service/access

Yes, it could be seen as communism, but is it? Clearly, many Federation citizens live better than others in terms of what privileges they have, how they stand socially as compared to their peers, prestige. All things that are not based in money, but in merit. You have seen me call this a "Socialist Meritocracy". A system by which you get what you need to be the best you. If you have natural mathematical abilities, then you get the tools you need to maximize it. Are you an artist? The you get the best tools available to express your art. It could be assignment to an art academy, perhaps a special set of artistic tools?

Seems to me, that of all of the possible paths to take in a socialist meritocracy, why would anyone choose Starfleet as opposed to say, scientific exploration or private travel and private life? How do you place officers in Starfleet based on merit? What is considered merit in Starfleet?

But I don't like it that it's being forced upon its citizens. It's also not very progressive and it's no wonder we have so many problems because it puts a blanket statement that everyone must follow these instructions or else it's barred from society. These idealist put a sweeping statement on the entire population because it's too much work to put it down to the individual because they think that most people will remain willfully ignorant on the issue. These high rise building are creating a toxic environment that most don't even care or even bother looking. What a sick world this capitalist culture is though - it's the worst.

It's wrong. Whether it be socialism or capitalism in principle, it's to keep us in line so we don't fuck things up. It's like trying to perfect a society so there is no individuality in an imperfect world. It's creepy how much big sister knows about me and wants to keep track of me.

It gives very little time for spontaneous creativity and well no fun time and personal time while they can travel the world at our expense and we serve others rather than ourselves.

I like being wacky and weird and my imperfections which is what makes us all unique but we are treated as a number and if it's free you are the product. It's like a movie where everything is heavily scripted and down to a fucking schedule. It keeps us as a prisoner.

My life has so far gone exactly like jesus christ. Not joking here.

The internet is fake and it gives people the illusion of freedom which is sad and we have dehumanize outside and we take out all our anger out on the internet and that makes us less and less human so we keep our opinions to ourselves fearing that it might offend someone.

These people that want to control everyone's life are sick individuals because they never got any love and they need someone to love them because they are deeply disturbed individuals who probably had an abusive childhood which crippled their childhood creativity rendered it inert. They need some love.

When you cookie cutter a generation it creates a very weak generation and weakens them. I have suffered a lot in my life medically - more so than most people but I have never given up hope. I don't like to follow a career path but we are indeed being controlled by a higher power than we realize.

This is cookie cuttered with very little room for innovation. It's all just an illusion though and most people don't even see it or care. The corporations continue to get bailed out meanwhile you have to work your ass off to get yourself bailed out or stay a prisoner.

You have allowed others to steal your joy and feeling of being an INDIVIDUAL. You complain about problems you are causing yourself. I am investing in myself but healing takes time and you don't have people within your family member calling who is putting money ahead of family values.

Capitalism has ruined people because it fuels that male disease called Greed because they simply work and sleep very little and everything to them becomes very analytical and very rigidly planned because they never struggled through life.

They don't dream which the human body needs to heal.I am a little paranoid because I get very sleep but I am also going through orthodontic treatment which in the past 2 years has been hell - how the hell can men tolerate not sleeping in this modern age. I have to use music which keeps my female side healing because it's constantly crying for sleep.
