The Outer Limits - The Movie?

Don't know that they should call it Outer Limits as the show was an anthology. Every episode was a different story. As stated in the article they're going to concentrate on just one story. But what does this mean for sequels with the Outer Limits moniker?

This wont work. They think Outer Limits is now a "brand", sorta like Brad Wright thought Stargate was a "brand". Something with it's own identity which could be slapped on any old rag, sorta like auto manufacturers treat car badges. So, I would guess that branding a movie with Outer Limits allows it to be just about any story. It would only have to give us the theme, the opening and closing intros and outros and a cool Outer Limits marketing campaign.

Translation: Somebody has the bright idea that instead of having a TV series with separate episodes, make a movie series with long episodes in movie format. BIG BUCK$! (only...NOT). Im waiting for these bright minds to find a way to make feature length reality movies. :(

Yeah, it just doesn't work. Basically any scifi/fantasy movie made these days has to be a repeatable brand. There has to be sequels. How can they make sequels in regards to Outer Limits? This just isn't making sense to me. Seems like they're just going to exploit the name. Color me surprised.
