Ashoka was around during the OT because it makes Yoda's clear statement to Luke that he is the last of the Jedi problematic. Maybe The Mandalorian can take the opportunity to correct this canon issue somehow.

Nothing to correct, Ahsoka is NOT a Jedi (neither is Ezra Bridger who may make an appearance as well)

I do think Gary overdid the schtick on Cara Dune a bit

well ,not that I want to come to Gary's defense but he is talking about this nonsense (they all thought that character is Ahsoka as well)

The Mandalorian trailer looked decent. My sole concern is bringing in all these characters may indicate they are making the story more epic - which they need to avoid doing as the small story was a key element in why it succeeded.

yes.. it seems there will be one more ep this season than last for 9, so a little more room. maybe they'll lengthen the eps as well? hopefully..

the characters that are reported to be in it are all connected though- so far, all our "known" characters in that they have been on screen and have a connection, of some type through either the planet mandalore, the dark sabre or being a mandalorian

if they were to try multiple plot lines- like game of thrones, it wouldn't work without longer eps and a longer season

although i am not opposed to them using characters from books or the "legends" bench, so far, they have not done that much-or at all?-- they did it a lot in SOLO. Mostly it has been weapons and ships, imported from those sources into this show and others like CW's and REBELS

in a few video reactions to the trailer and in anticipation of the trailer, there is rumor that in either this season or the next, the show may have less of Din Djarin and more of others characters, continuing their stories from other shows/films

ex: the Mandalorian could morph into a show about Ahsoka

I will confess to being concerned about all these chracters being brought in. A BIG part of the charm of the Mandalorian is that is a smaller story in a smaller setting. I would have been happy to continue with no new characters for now.

They are in milking mode. They have glutted the Baby Yoda toy market, and although I love the Mandalorian, I am doubtful it will have long legs if they continue in the same way as they have. I do like the show!

some of the character itro is needed for the "what happened after..." issues from the OT. like with Boba Fett and with Tatooine in general

we at least know that Fetts armor survived-- question remaining is how? did the sarlac crap it out or did fett escape and sell his armor to the Jawas?

the Morrison character at the end of Chapter 9, could be Fett, scars on his face could be from Sarlacc .

or it could be any number of clone trooper survivors. we know from Rex and the others with him that many clones may have lived to an old age

it could also be CPT rex himself, sans beard. maybe scouting on Din Djarin on a mission from Ahsoka. maybe she heard or "felt" via the force the presence of the Yoda creature?

Chapter 10 was slower, but it did give info on the status of the new republic att his time.. they are not in total control of the galaxy.. known from legends but never actually stated on screen before

dont really get why so many ppl are upset with ep 2? i really dont.. is it lack of 'pew pew'?

also, looking like the Sasha Banks character may not be Sabine... we shall soon find out. i hope it is. not just because i want to see her in live action as it would make sense to have her with Ahsoka being in it, but why keep creating so man new characters?

keep the story small with a small, known cast of character but with a story with huge galactic implications

so-- compared to the overall pacing and intensity/action of all 'chapters' so far, it was a bit slow

also, people are calling it 'filler' but they haven't been paying attn if they say that --reactive critics who dont even watch the show maybe? just reacting to other reviews?

it starts off on tattoine where the last ep ended, it shows some known characters from last season, and intro's a new character-- 'the passenger'

and as i said above- without spoilers, t does give important info; we find out that the New Republic must actively patrol for Imperials-- something we know from the canon books but of course, nothing on screen till now--the NR is not in total control of the galaxy

these kind of eps is why i prefer to watch the whole season at one time... like a 10 hour movie, then it is just a slow part and not a slow ep

WOW, chptr 11 or s2ep3.. great episode.. FINALLY some crossover from Clone WARS and Rebels with a major character

this ep should more than makeup with those who were disappointed with the previous one

and not to spoil but just to say-- seems EVERYONE was wrong on who Sasha Banks is playing. and, she is not credited as sasha banks, but under her real name

and a great character played by a great actor-- Titus Welliver, whom no one even mentioned as being in this season

we also got the "why" Din Djarin believes he is not allowed to take off his helmet when we have seen plenty of Mandalorians who do--its like he is a Mando version of a Scientologist or something

din djarin will confront the armorer with the truth he has learned on helmet wearing and the 'cult' issue, then decide to temp team up with the mainstream Mando's

Moff gideon has as his base, Mandalore. this is why he has the dark sabre.. he took part in the Purge came into possession of the DS in t, then kept it to cement his position as the Mandalore-- as did Maul in CW's

Din, Cara Dunne, Greef Karga with Kyrze's Mando's , will team up with Ahsoka (w/Sabine and Rex) and a Boba Fett looking for redemption, will attack Gideons base and retake Mandalore

Ahsoka will take custody of The Kid leaving Din Djarin open for new adventures in S3

i am officially betting .25 on this

a pet theory by some out there saying the Armorer could be Rook Kast, a female Mandalorian who served as Maul's bodyguard while he ruled Mandalore

her helmet has horns that resemble a Zabraks. could be in honor of Maul

or, she is a Zabrak herself, another 'alien' foundling brought in by Deathwatch and trained. Why she is so keen on another alien foundling being saved by Din

or, she could just be nobody

Also, the idea that Star Wars occupies a whole galaxy in the minds of the average Star Wars fan is a bit of a stretch.

There are two camps in Lucasfilm - Favreau and Filoni are in one and Mando is their baby. The other is Kathleen Kennedy and people like Michelle Rejwan. So far Disney has not let Kennedy exercise any control over Mando; Favreau and Filoni are the final word and they are sympathetic to Lucas and to getting Star Wars back to the canon and tone of the Original Trilogy.

EP4 ..WOW! they have been taking elements from LEGENDS throughout REBELS, CLONE WARS and Mando.. but this ep really did a reach into LEGENDS formaterial

very very reminiscent of FORCE UNLEASHED video games.. makes sense why they put everything from those games into LEGENDS--they want to use it themselves for new shows/movies

and the pacing of the ep-- just when you thought it was going to be a ho-hum, Din is doing this just to help, as he has so many other times-- things get very serious and fit more into the overall theme of things going on in the galaxy
