First official image of the new Doctor as she will appear in the show. In the teaser clip from earlier in the year it showed her in a dark hood and jacket. But that look has been gotten rid of and she is now styled like a reject from the set of Mork & Mindy. I don't know what the stylists were thinking. It's like they intentionally washed out any trace of femininity. She looks childish and slovenly. Good job stylists.

Yup. There is a controversy going on now for a while about SJWs having most of the positions of authority inside BBC, and Who is one of the shows they wanted control over. They got it and a LOT of the fans have basically said they're through with the show in its current incarnation,

you know with this, and STD and SGU etc,etc, it is becoming pretty clear that the TPTB's or those that fund them are people who just never really got the original intentions of the original series/films

I don't have a problem with them trying a female doctor but I'm not understanding the clownish clothes they have given her. The male doctors weren't that clownish looking. The accouterments of Smith, Tennant and Capaldi were subdued compared to this look. Even Baker with a scarf was fairly subdued; it was a cute affectation, not a clownish one. But this new look for the female doctor is intentionally bizarre. You're right in that it's definitely an attempt to make her "fit in better" but I think it really misses the mark.

Do you think the pants will bounce up and down when she runs ? My dad was an avid Irish Step dancer and made a pair of pants weighted down while wearing springy suspenders , the pant's would flop up and down when he jigged just about showing his green underwear whilst also being dressed up as a wee Leprechaun. I will try and find a pic . It was quiet hilarious to watch . What a card he was . I miss him . Oh and he could dance a ladies feet off . The guy was Fred Astair on the dance floor . He was still in his 70's wooing young ladies on the dance floor lol . Me ,,, 3 left feet , but I can do an awesome worm if asked ... You know . You lay on the floor and push your chest up fast forcing your body backwards then lowering your chest while you raise ur butt and keep wiggling down to your feet while going backwards and getting some sweet air with your body at the same time . It was fun to do ...

he was in that movie/tv pilot for a dr who that never got going. i remember seeing it on some local channel weekend matinee movie


the most memorable of the old timers for me was tom baker. i remember my dad- NOT A sci fi fan!--watching dr who on tv in the 70's. it must have been either on the local PBS station or a local UHF one. i remember the guy and his scarf

Well "trans" is apropos in this instance as the Doctor has crossed from one gender to the other. I don't have my Latin dictionary in front of me so I'll have to rely on Google but the definition of trans is "across, beyond, through". The difference here is how will the Doctor adjust to the new gender after always being male? Will the new Doctor view the universe through a "male lens" so to speak?

At any rate, I won't mind if they take a moment to have the Doctor adjust mentally to being female, but I hope they don't constantly reference male traits. That would be low-brow and tedious after awhile.

BTW, is the Doctor going to have a bevy of male companions now? It's only fair considering when the Doc was male he flitted about the universe with tons of young, hot women that were his pseudo concubines.
