Marvel is making BILLIONS on these superhero films, collectively. Cant blame them! Thing is, DC needs more than just Batman and Superman and Wonder Woman. Flash needs some love, and so do Aquaman, Batgirl and Catwoman.

No, no, no, no, NO! They need to resist the temptation to bring stupid characters to the big screen. Keep it adult. That's the formula that breathed new life into the Batman franchise. Even though Catwoman was brought into the last movie, her character's cat-influenced persona was minimized to a great degree and rightfully neglected the "meow" stupidity that were Pfeiffer's and Berry's failed legacies.

No Flash. No Blunder Woman. No Batgirl. No Robin. No more stupid childish superheroes.

The Marvel films have been superior not just because they tend to have their superheroes be a little more realistic (even Thor) but really at the fundamental levels of cogent and logical scripting, acting, pacing they have just been better movies. Ironically Sony looked like it had started to "get it" with Spider Man 2 (the Tobey MacGuire one with Doc Octopus) but the subsequent Spider Man films have all been utter dreck (note as Bluce ably pointed out Spider Man is actually a Marvel character but until this year Marvel Studios did not have movie rights to him - so he is not strictly a DC example just more of a "non Marvel" one). And the DC films except for the first two Bale Batman's have also been disasters.

Note that Guardians of the Galaxy, by far the most fanciful of the Marvel films, is nonetheless a superior MOVIE. It is extremely well scripted and acted. with good pacing and a slightly twisted sense of humor that fits perfectly.

Spidey wasn't a Marvel movie property until very recently. Remember there was a "rights" issue with Sony. But yes you are right that "comic wise" it is Marvel. Just has not been produced by Marvel Studios.

Batman has a good back story leading into his vigilante character, plus he's a regular man (well, a regular billionaire) who develops skills and weaponry. The Dark Knight iteration of Batman is, IMO, DC's version of the Punisher, also a vigilante with a somewhat similar back story.

Superman is fun but not really my cuppa tea given his infinite powers, which basically make him a god of sorts able to solve any problem in a minute. Any Superman conflict stretching out longer is simply unrealistic given who he is, which is what turns me off about anything Superman related.

Aside from Batman maybe Cyborg could make a good DC movie. The rest are way too cheesy and stupid.

Speaking of the Punisher, I think the character is an underused asset. I liked the Thomas Jane version and couldn't stand the Ray Stevenson one. If this short sprouts a new Punisher movie with Thomas Jane, I'm in.

Probably. It predates both of those and could have a sort of "werewolf" vibe - with Jason Blood struggling to be a force for good and dragging Etrigan unwillingly along.

A lot of dudes loved Pfeiffer as Catwoman. The only thing she added to Batman back then was an essence of sexuality and that infamous licking scene when she was straddling him while he was on his back.

Catwoman was always supposed to be oversexed and aggressive...almost like a dominatrix. Of all of them, only Julie Newmar and Michelle Pfeiffer captured her essence IMO. The villians in Batman are all some of DC's best characters, but they are trapped in Batman's universe (Joker, Catwoman, Riddler, Penguin, Batgirl). Wonder Woman is dated and her "powers" are lame. How can you have an invisible jet? It would have been easier for her to just fly like Superman. I mean, what is a dumb invisible jet when you have the cloaked flying aircraft carrier in Avengers? And that "Lasso of Truth" and the magic bracelets....
