OMG, give me a Neanderthal ginger any day of the week! Hell, this guy is actually worth buying an antique giant radiator just to chain him to, that's how hot he is. ;)

From what I understand they're looking at him playing one of the kids of Luke or Leia. I'm a SW fan but I'm not a freak about it so I don't understand who all these characters are sooooooo...JJ Abrams better do a good job of clearly explaining exactly who everyone is and their lineage, etc. I don't need anything weird or complicated, I just need clear, concisely defined characters with understandable motivations for their actions.

Oh, and no stupid, cartoon characters like Jar Jar Binks. :tealcanime23:

You can always start with a reading list at wookieepedia (starwars.wikia.com) they seem to have pretty much all of the standard and expanded uni's here. now that a team has been assigned to "unify" all the characters and universes it should come in handy. I am sure they are doing this to provide a type of legitimacy to any new character intro'd.

JJ shouldn't have to think of any new characters, that has all been done for him by Lucas authorized or accepted fan fiction

Is it just me or does JJ seem to be putting more effort and more care/passion for Star Wars than what he put into Star Trek?

The relevant quote from the article by Kathleen Kennedy:

“George [Lucas] was so clear as to how that works. The canon that he created was the Star Wars saga. Right now, episode seven falls within that canon. The spin-off movies, or we may come up with some other way to call those films, they exist within that vast universe that he created.

“There is no attempt being made to carry characters (from the standalone films) in and out of the saga episodes. Consequently, from the creative standpoint, it’s a roadmap that George made pretty clear.”

Im waiting for yet another teen version to spin off sorta like the Anakin/Padme thing. :anim_59:. A TV show, perhaps. :) Disney is getting back into an imperialist mode, soaking up competition to gain control of a market segment and such. :rolleye0014: :moneybag:

OMG, can you just imagine how bad a SW show might be? All those close-up scenes of teen angst with the occasional wide shot before a cheap green screen. You just know in order to keep the budget manageable they will do tons of talking scenes where the camera catches their faces but rarely pans out to see the larger world. And, the first episode will be loaded with space battles and cool stuff -- for the first 30 minutes, but then the show will devolve into talking talking talking.

The official "canon filler" tv series to take place between eps III and IV. "Rebels" will be on Disney XD. While in the same format as The Clone Wars, it will also not be tailored only for little kids, it will probably have a teen tv rating as it will have acts of violence and death (like in CW's). I think there is a thread on it some where here) amd also like CW's, should be watchable for any SW fan teenager and up-just like the films.

Disney needs a new herd of cash cows, and Star Wars and Marvel are the two biggest ones they have at the moment. They will over do Star Wars and turn it into a mega franchise. Like I said before, the rise of Star Wars themed rides and attractions at Disney Resorts worldwide is inevitable. And I am not ready to see Batman or Superman showing up at Disneyland. Space Mountain renamed to Mos Eisley?

I never watched it. It is better than the last three movies (eps 1 2 3) really?

It's a cartoon, but with that in mind it's pretty good. It's very stylish and lush with visual images. Some things suck though like the lack of concern for certain characters when they are in danger because you know they are going to live since they're in the movies. Plus some characters are a bit too preachy and goody goody to the point that it gets annoying.

Overall though it's worth a view for sure. There are some good story lines and interesting episodes.

Yes, really.

Get over your "cartoon hate" bro, just go for the storyline, and the storyline for TCW is great.

If they turned TCW into a Live action movie or TV series, it would be like sg-1 VS stargate the movie. the movie was fantastic, the show has far more depth to it.

Its not that I hate cartoons, its that I dont take them seriously. :) I know that the storytelling in some of these animated series and movies is awesome, but the visual of "cartoon" vs live action is a different world for me.

You cartoon fans baffle me with this mentality. :icon_lol:. If I go to a car show to see cars, and several entries are model cars, I see the models much much differently than a real car. A statue of a cartoon character to me is as unreal as the cartoon character itself. It is not a hate for the art or a disdain for cartoons, it is the fact that there is no real life element in them for me to connect to. Anything can happen in a cartoon universe, which takes away the element of tension for me. This holds true for CGI animated movies like Cars and Toy Story too which I see as cartoons as well.

That's because you miss the reason why we like them, we like them because of the STORY. We connect to the story, and if you cannot connect to the stories, I feel very sorry for you, you may as well just watch doco's 24/7

Here is a suggestion, watch the movie "brave" and just listen to the story.
Forget it is animated, just........... live in the story.

Your argument's shit bro. lol, look what I did just by changing a few words.

Actually, no. Your adjustments dont fly. Things that happen in a (well written) scifi universe MUST follow the laws of physics and rules of known science, even if that science is theoretical, this is why I hated the introduction of Q into TNG and Voyager. cartoon characters have NO element of reality in them. Even if they animate a known locale or a known person, it still is not anywhere near a real life depiction. Even the silliest real life show is still more real than any cartoon.

This will never happen to me:
