This is when you can see a difference between an online forum an getting together at a local Applebees or other such establishment - by now everything would be cleared up and we all would be laughing and chattering because in those settings we have a big advantage - live, real time communication. I vote (it's only one vote but it's mine) that we all do the internet equivalent; forgive, forget and drink a virtual toast to each other.(Using joy because I can't find any icons with glasses of drink).
yep I know what you mean. online people can leave and just simmer, others won't let it go, and without the social pressure of people being there in person those in the middle have no ability to affect the outcome.

As for this thread, I don't see any reason for contention here either. It's all good, we're all cool, no worries.
As for my day, well, it was grueling and from hell (grass cutting, tree removal including the freaking stump replete with roots, basement clean up and maintenance, allergies to beat the band, yada yada yada). I generally love summer and enjoy being outside even if it's for manual labor but today kicked my a$$ in more ways than one. Amazingly, traffic on the freeway wasn't jammed up even thru the construction zone. So I can't complain about everything today.
you wanna come dig up the back yard with hubby? he's installing a pipe at the end of a gutter to prevent erosion.

As for dealing with foul-mouthed teenage brats I have to say I miss the days where you could crack someone in the mouth for talkin' smack and it wouldn't be considered "assault". We baby our young "adults" far too much and because of that their social development is retarded (in the truest definition of the word "retarded", not as the slang definition). There was a time where youth was taught social manners, one way or the other. Now we protect them from the consequences of what comes out of their mouths. This is bad for everyone.
Oh do NOT get me started. i was so criticized for being "tough" on snookie because I insisted she learn things like social manners, etc...and yet she is a fully functional adult now.

I have to use "Reply with Quote" in order to post in "temporal sync" with you guys. The instant I use - "Reply to Thread", that's it, the subsequent post will always be the latest post on the thread with the right date but the wrong post time. Not that I don't love being centre of attention, lol.

@tropi- when I replied to your 2 documenatries thread I had the same thing appear but didn't think much about it. i hadn't quoted you. Maybe someone needs to inform OM1 what's going on with the reply buttons?

My day so far sucks. I woke up to find out that the member I invited over here intends to leave. The newest member he invited over here is already getting negative tripe thrown at her. It seems that some here indeed, CANNOT let things go and evidently if you can't agree with their beliefs, well you should just go. All other offers, were retracted to come here, and we are back at square frakin one. Good Job, way to be hospitable to the new members. :mad:
I thought this was not to be a fourm about HATE anymore. This sure feels like it. You don't like the show, been stated several times. We don't care. We do. We want to talk about it, keep telling us how bad it is. We don't care. We still do. Hope I have made that frakin point clear. We would appreciate the ability to continue our discussion without being told repeatedly how much this show sucks. We still like it. And millions of others do too. Millions.
I hope he changes his mind because he is a true friend and a good person. There are many people over here that wish him to stay. Most don't enjoy these type of situations and so are quietly sitting on the sidelines hoping for a peaceful resolve. I would offer him the ability to continue in this forum with the rest of us that can play respectfully and ask him to ignore the one that does not. We can ignore the blatant attempts of baiting together. You, Me, Backstep, Stranger, ArwenofTek ESA and whoever else wants to hold a meaningful discussion about the merits of the BSG shows. I ask you to do as I do at SYFY and ignore the one that wants you out and stay and correspond with your friends and minded fans or not of BSG.
Please don't leave.

Weeell, I've been hanging out with my cousin today, just havin' a good time and watching a few movies. BTW, a good and pretty unknown film I can recommend, is P2. It's a thriller starring Rachel Nichols and Wes Bentley. Even though it has a pretty cliché plot, it's well written with interesting and realistic characters. Wes Bentley is frakking creepy as the baddie, and it has some good eye candy in the form of Rachel Nichols. Though thankfully she doesn't play a damsel in distress character since she has some pretty badass moments in the film.

Seconded. Don't leave. Just because we all don't completely agree on NuBSG (a show that overall I liked despite having some misgivings about it) does not mean we cannot all have meaningful discussions (like GB says) and indeed we do all share a common liking of Science Fiction.

I got to spend time with Teako an African Grey that me and my husband are hoping to adopt and bring her home in the near future.She's a very sweet bird. The ate at the...Daaairy Queen eating a burger at the Daaairry Queen oh yeah! (changing the words but not the vibe to Abba's Dancing Queen. lol) So yeah been pretty good and it's a beautiful day today.

Sunny day here (for a change) - working on a wedding present for a friend (I cross stitch) and trying to get some house work done. For some silly reason I have absolutely ZERO motivation to do house work!

Yeah i like birds. I used to have a Red-Lored Amazon called Louie but he's in the UK with my parents so i don't have him any more and can only see him when i go back to the UK. Teako will be my first African Grey.
