This kind of crap from SyFy is indefensible. Really it is. It would be one thing if movies such as this were sincere in their schlocky-ness, but they're not. They're intentionally made to be as bad as possible. It's one thing to have a small budget to work with ala Roger Corman where you'd get a fairly crappy product but SyFy takes it a step further and tries to parody crappiness. No good can come from this as evinced by Sharknado, a few minutes of which I caught. To say it was beyond redemption is a kindness. It was so bad it leaves one speechless. And anyone acting in it should be on death row.

OMG, I just watched Sharknado 2, and it was hilarious! These movies are intentionally campy and funny. I thought they were supposed to be serious, but just crappy...they are like a cross between Jaws and Airplane. Comedy to be sure, and with just enough gore and silly campy lighthearted humor that they are perfect popcorn movies (at home). They make you laugh, cringe, and roll your eyes and they are a lot of fun.

THEY are a lot of fun? Yep. After I watched Sharknado 2, I went and downloaded Sharknado 1, which is not as good as the second one but still funny as hell and setting the tone for these films.

There is a Sharknado 3 coming! If you just want fun and camp, in the vein of Airplane, Scary Movie and Saturday Night Live, you will like these. Rock and Roll soundtrack, funny dialogue and over the top characters on top of this utterly implausible premise makes for a fun hour and a half for each movie.
