Movies that are Great but have the worst acting.

Hey all,

This is a fun little idea. Post movies you feel have the worst acting imaginable but you still enjoyed the movie. I would gladly say that Bloodsport and overall Van Damme old movies had the cheesiest acting I have ever seen, but his movies always were quite uplifting. Infact, I think most of the 80s to 90s movies were very cheesy but they weren't as shit with what I have seen this decade or the decade before that. At least the movie got the message got across.

Cool idea. But pretty hard to think of something. Usually when the acting completely sucks I would find it hard to enjoy a movie. Is the other way around perhaps also acceptable? Meaning movies that totally suck but had great acting?

For some reason The Core jumps to mind. Though in retrospect that might just be a cheesy movie with average acting.

The core is unbelievably cheesy. There was this 90s bug movie which I can't remember the name to. It was very low budget, but I can't remember the name or find out what it is. I think a lot of the bug movies from the 90s were very bad, but bad as in acting wise, but still watchable.

A good comedy movie that comes to mind that is chessy is Canadian Bacon. LMFAO

Cheesy bug movies... hmmmm... All the Starship Troopers sequels?? Not that the first Starship Troopers wasn't cheesy, but at least not as much as the other ones.

Another movie just popped into mind, The Last Airbender. I find the movie enjoyable to watch sometimes because I like the concept, and it does have a few scenes that are quite alright. The acting is definitely sub par though. Not the worst part of the movie however, that is the direction. Man did M. Night Shyamalan screw the pooch on that one! The story and concept have so much potential, yet in the hands of him it turned into a contrived and awkward mess. Still, like I said, I enjoy watching it sometimes.

I have to admit that bad acting usually takes me right out of the film. As to The Core, I would call it a decently acted film with an illogical plot.

Perhaps this calls for films where the bad acting doesn't matter much because the human characters are only a small piece of the puzzle - like the Toho Godzilla films.

I usually don't finish movies with bad writing, but bad acting? Godzillla 2014 is in this category for me. Same with iRobot and I am Legend. I liked those movies a lot but hated the acting.

What about Mortal Kombat the original Movie? I liked the concept of the movie as it was pretty good adaption of the game, but the acting, oh my god...haha...you would chuckle. The soundtrack was pretty ground breaking too. One of the first if not the first 90s movie I saw that got the tension music right.

You don't need shaky cams to create tension to create a good scene. Use real stunt mens/womens to do this.

No, definitely not starship troopers. It was to do with roaches I think. Oh yeah, one more clip from Canadian bacon

the stargate episode was better than the core. Hubby has stopped watching it when I am around because I heckle it so badly!

There are much worse ones out there! Let's not forget about Tank Girl. :)

One came to mind - King Kong versus Godzilla. The acting is pretty amateurish albeit enthusiastic but the story and the battles between Kong and Godzilla are comedy gold.
