I have, and I have to say that it's just plain awful. Not even worth writing a review about. In fact, I recommend that you all just read this instead of watching the movie.

I especially love the comments about the excessive shaky cam in the film:

"As they stand, completely still and tense with trepidation, the CAMERAMAN starts practicing his DANCE MOVES."

"The CAMERAMAN films this scene while riding a WATER SLIDE BACKWARD."

Hilarious! I couldn't stop laughing at this part: WILLOW SHIELDS: Sis, I want you to have the mockingjay pin I wear, it'll bring you good luck. JENNIFER LAWRENCE: This would be the same lucky pin you were wearing when you were selected against thousand-to-one odds to be sent to your death, right? Thanks. WILLOW SHIELDS: Don't worry. I'll see you when the movie's over, since at no point will anyone make an attempt to make it seem like you're not going to obviously win the games.

Maybe this movie was an experiment in marketing to settle a bet among a bunch of studio idiots who wanted to prove that a even a colossal piece of shit can break the box office with enough "in your face all the time" marketing behind it.

Supposedly they are making a Hunger Games type show for the CW network. Didn't I call that one? If not me then someone here did. At any rate, color me shocked.

So I actually read this thing the other day, 400 pages of utter dross............
The concept I must admit is sound (why they have the games etc) but the writing, OMG!! I assume it is written for the 12-14 market, cause I've read school Creative Writing tasks that read better. :facepalm2:

As for making a movie from it, honestly I can't see it needing that much adaption as it almost reads like a "movie treatment" anyway..............

Someone already tried to say that that Robert Pattinson (of sparkly vampire fame) was going to be in the sequel, but he smashed that rumor down with a life-sized onyx elephant.

I was given the book a couple years ago and I am glad to say I have never cracked it's pages. Nor have I any intent or desire to see the flipping movie.

I can't stand distopian stuff. As I commented in another thread, I hate the whole "us vs them" bs that is generally the gist of that kind of book/show. You get to the point where you wish the "bad guys" would just take a staff weapon to their heads and be done with it.

I "acquired" the movie, and despite it being available to me 24/7, I have never been able to stand more than 20 minutes of it before turning it off. The scary part of the movie is that even if you FF to over half the movie over, it never quite does it for me. I cant connect with it. In contrast, I was drawn into Harry Potter with the mind of my childhood, and failthfully watched and enjoyed every single HP movie, multiple times. :) Why are they trying to compare this book series to HP? I think they wanted to push it as "the NEW harry Potter". I dont know. I have never seen more than one episode of Twilight.
