Doctor Who S07E07 - "The Bells of Saint John"

I just finished watching this ep, and I actually thought it was rather good. Decent enough storyline with some standard villains and all that, but the thing that really made me enjoy it was the new companion. I quite like Clara and find her a refreshing change from the Ponds whom I was getting very tired of towards the end there.

Also, the reveal towards the end that the classic Who baddie, the Great Intelligence, whom we also saw in the christmas special, appears to be the seasons main villain is pretty promising. At least it's a step up from having the Daleks show up every other episode or so. The episodes to come sure has some potential, I only hope that the writers are up to the task this time.

Well if you love Dr. Who so much why don't you just marry him? :daniel01:

*We don't get the new season for a couple weeks yet. ;)

Really, 'cause the BBC America website says that you're getting the new season today at 8PM EST with just a few hours delay from the Britsh broadcast. ;)

Hmm, last I heard it wasn't until April 15th approx. Maybe it changed or maybe I got it wrong or maybe I didn't care enough to pay attention to the blathering promo. :anim_59:

I also liked it. Making the Great Intelligence the villain is a nice throw back to Classic Who and in fact they have even filled in some questions from the old show (like how the GI got to Earth in the first place). Also, Matt Smith's performance was calmer and his new outfit is even more of a throwback to Patrick Troughton than its predecessor was. Put together with Moffat's undoing the whole "Doctor as a lonely god" crap that RTD had created and making him less well known and the overall design is clear and welcome - it allows for some smaller scale stories which we are starting to see. It'd refreshing - not every story has to have the fate of the universe at stake.

Watched it this afternoon at Wondercon and really enjoyed it.

LOVE that long purple coat of his -- and the bowtie in the wooden box, held like one of Indy's treasures. LOL
