No one said we didn't. I was just curious as to the intent when no one here hates Andor.

Who hates Andor?
there are A LOT of people who do, mainly the SW's 'pew-pew' type fans. also the ones who say SWs cannot be SW's without Jedi in it

if you used FB I would give you a link to a group with a lot of hate in it

@Atlantis its not so much that it was 'cancelled' more that it is a known outcome,, a known timeframe-- its bookended so to speak by the start of the show on one end and ROGUE ONE on the other

the showrunner had a specific plan for the show with time jumps to allow for the 'evolution' of Cassian from what he was to Rebel master spy. Gilroy is also not interested in a long term commitment to the franchise either

We'll have to what happens with it. The first season was definitely watchable and the fact that it did not show a lot of things usually associated with Star Wars was a plus - helped the show have its own identity.

Some ANDOR "hate" for your reading pleasure...some nuanced, some not :icon_lol:

Galambos Tamas
For me, Andor fails on multiple level... ok no jedi, lightsabers. barely any aliens or other sw stuff. as someone said, maybe they should make a Jurassic park movie without dinos. if i want a good drama series, House of dragon or Foundation adaptation are magnitudes better. grittyness doesnt make andor since it is flat and overstretched.

Mark Jones
Ashoka. Andor was so boring

Lloyd Hendricks
It's so much real-world I can see why some people hate it

Taliesin Trzell
Just a little out of place to me cause other than two moments in Rogue One the Rebels have always been squeaky clean morally, however unrealistic. I'll just take some time for me to get used to it as this morally grey rebellion gets fleshed out more.

Andrew Dunn
It depends on what you want out of it. It's great to have a Michael Clayton political thriller. But a Michael Clayton political thriller isn't something I would have wanted to see when I was a kid. MMA and professional wrestling are completely different and they're both great.

Joe Hroncich
Different, not better..

It's rated quite well but I am surprised that they cancelled it after 2 seasons.

some more on the "it wasn't cancelled". 2 seasons was the plan

note the date of the post and the article linked

also 2 seasons and done was stated in August 2022 -- BEFORE the show ever came out

· November 23, 2022

“We’re going to skip a whole year. We come back a year later, many things have changed,” Gilroy said. “And we’ll do three episodes, and we’ll jump a year. And we’ll do another three episodes, and we’ll jump a year. And we’ll come back to the final four episodes, and those episodes will be the last three days really before Rogue One, and the final scene of the show will be walking you into Rogue One.”

Now they have pushed S2 to April 2025

spacing out shows so there is some SWs show on first run, for more of the year

SWs Skeleton Crew coming Dec this yr as well. Also a YTr who had the 'special access' that Disney gives to some YTrs, when they promise not to give details, has hinted that several characters from other shows may appear in Andor S2. She hinted at the crew of the Ghost from REBELS as well as a live action Omega Fett

@Gatefan1976

trailer- sort of. mixed with other shows upcoming to disney/hulu

ANDOR S2 trailer

seems they made this season, the last season (was always going to be the last as we know when the story of Andor ends), in 3 episode arcs over a 12 episode total

each 3 ep 'chapter' will be at a point in time of Andor's life and the growing Rebellion's timeline, then move forward in years

it was also filmed on real world sets as opposed to how so much of Mandalorian was filmed on those surround 'green screen' sets, giving it a different 'atmosphere'

looks like it should be good

nice fan tidbit, seems we will also get the first live action scenes of Imperial Navy Commando's as well

first seen, I believe in the Force Awakens games

going back to SOLO and ROGUE ONE the use of other Imperial forces. like the actual Army and the so called 'beach' troopers show us a better view of how the Imp military actually was- the Stormtrooper corps was one of the smallest units of the Imperial military- yet they are everywhere in the movies

How far out before Filming/production of ANDOR did they cast this guy?

Its easy to make a animated character look like a live actor; not so much the other way around. Seems as if they had this actor planned for / locked in back when they made REBELS.

They have done this several times in animation- creating the animated character to look as much as possible as the actor - having plans for later using the actor in live action

To their credit Andor is doing a good job this season of paying off stuff they sent up earlier. Sadly the viewership seems to be pretty low.

"ratings" cannot be used as a metric in the way they used to be

i have not watched any of S2 yet- why? waiting for the entire 12 eps to load

a lot of people are like that

also, there are those who do not watch unless there is some level of "follow me" buzz (not real fans)

most SW's shows have had this- more following after the fact then while it is current -- and just what is current any longer in the world of on demand streaming?

corpo's want it to be what it was- like "who in what age group watched live" but those viewing habits really don't exist any longer

related-- i did re-watch all of S1 then I watched ROGUE 1 again. though both are great, doing so demonstrates why SW's series (or maybe any series) is better then a movie

no depth in movies,, everything must be exposed and played out in the run time of around 2 hrs, while even a 6 ep series gives far more room for deeper characters, development, more action, more of everything

an ex from ROGUE 1 is when they are getting ready to attack Scariff, and Baze tells Jyn something like "Good luck sister". meaning in the same way as "brothers" fighting together, indicating a long relationship. these two have no such relationship-- they just met.

in Andor S1 by contrast, Luthen and Andor do not even have that kind of relationship, and they have been through firefights together

i would love for them to not make ANY SWs movies.. to put them all in to Series form, so many more possibilities

-------------------

according to this guy and his sources.. that 'delayed viewership' combined with 'buzz' made ANDOR S1 a big hit for DISNEY

watched all of S2 today,, 12 eps back to back

all I can say it was a great bridge from REBELS to ROGUE ONE , having many of the plot lines from that show referenced and even seeing the actual Ghorman massacre occur as well as how the rescue of Mon Mothma happened

tie ins to Rogue One (of course) and EP4

also liked how we didn't get complete closure on all characters,, all we need to know for those who survived is that they went on

my pet theory for Bix is that she later found an even quieter place for her and her baby,, a planet called Sorgan, where she changed her name to Omera (Mandalorian S1E4). Would explain how Omera is so good with a blaster ;)

this guy brings up a great point about imperial bullies.. specifically Dedra, Krennic and Tarkin/Vader

and that specific chain of characters .. we have seen for 2 seasons Dedra conduct harsh interrogations with a results oriented focus to try and up her rank in the ISB

Then, despite her successful work for Krennic, we see him push her to break.. then two days later (timeline wise) we see Krennic broken by Tarkin then Vader
