Torchwood
Torchwood is a secret organisation established in 1879 by Queen Victoria. Its prime directive, is to defend the Earth against extraterrestrial threats. Following a major incident which led to the destruction of Torchwood One, Captain Jack Harkness rebuilds Torchwood Cardiff to become less confrontational and more secretive in honour of The Doctor.
